We publish. We don’t sell.
TopRates.ca is operated by Webhub4u Inc., a Canadian technology and media publisher.
Webhub4u Inc. is not an insurance broker, insurance agent, insurance company, mortgage brokerage, or financial advisor.
It holds no licence from FSRA, RIBO, or any comparable regulator in any province or territory. It does not sell, bind, place, or administer insurance, and it does not broker mortgages.
Reading this Site does not make you anyone’s client.
Nothing here is advice
Our content is general education. It is not insurance, financial, mortgage, legal, or tax advice, and it is not a recommendation to buy, keep, cancel, or change any product.
We write for a general Canadian audience. Our content knows nothing about your health, age, driving record, claims history, property, dependants, income, debts, immigration status, or province. General guidance can be wrong for your situation. Before you act, talk to a licensed professional in your province or territory.
You cannot buy anything here
There is no quote engine, no application, and no way to bind coverage on this Site — for auto, home, business, travel, life, or any other insurance product. To get covered, deal directly with a licensed broker, agent, or insurer.
Mortgage content carries no licence
Mortgage brokering is separately regulated in Ontario under the MBLAA. Webhub4u Inc. is not a licensed mortgage brokerage, broker, agent, or lender. Mortgage content is general information only.
Credit cards: we get paid
Credit cards are the only place we earn commercial revenue. We may be compensated when you apply for or are approved for a card through a link on this Site. That’s disclosed on every page where it applies.
Compensation does not decide which cards we cover or what we say about them. Issuer terms, rates, fees, and approval criteria change often — verify them on the issuer’s own site before applying.
Rates and figures are illustrative
Any premium, rate, range, or worked example here is illustrative — not a quote, not an offer, not a guarantee. Real pricing comes from an insurer’s or lender’s underwriting and filed rates and depends on facts specific to you. Your number will differ, sometimes substantially.
Comparisons state their basis
Where we compare or rank, our Methodology explains what was compared, when, and against what criteria. We publish no “best,” “cheapest,” or similar claim without one. Our comparisons don’t cover the whole market and are no substitute for shopping your own coverage.
Accuracy, currency, and the law
We cite primary sources and review material content before publishing, but we warrant nothing. Regulation, statutory benefits, product rules, and pricing change constantly; announced reforms are sometimes amended, delayed, or repealed. Content reflects our understanding on the date shown.
Primary sources govern — FSRA, RIBO, Ontario e-Laws, FCAC, IRCC. Where it matters, read the source, not our summary.
Insurance is regulated provincially. Rules described here may not apply where you live, and some provinces run public auto insurance systems to which private-market content doesn’t apply at all.
Policy wording governs
Nothing we write about what a policy covers, excludes, or pays replaces the policy. Coverage is determined by the contract the insurer issues and by its assessment of any claim. Nothing here guarantees coverage will be available to you, that an application will be accepted, or that a claim will be paid.
About summer 2027
We may refer to a target of summer 2027 for a quote comparison service. That is an intention, not a commitment. Any such service would depend on registration granted by a regulator, not scheduled by us. Plans may be delayed, changed, or abandoned. Don’t act in reliance on a launch date.
Third parties
We link to third-party sites and data. We don’t control them and aren’t responsible for their content, accuracy, or privacy practices. A link is not an endorsement. Third-party names and trademarks are used for identification only.
